Why now
The Gulf states hold capital looking for assets outside the oil sector and are running their own diversification programmes. Poland has technology, industry and a stable regulatory environment inside the European Union. The missing link is not interest but trust and familiarity with procedure on both sides.
The programme is led by people who have worked on both sides of that relationship, including as head of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Foreign Trade Office in Dubai. That allows the conversation to be held at institutional level rather than through intermediaries.
